THE LAST RECURRENT DREAM by Gary Lindorff

014

The Last Recurrent Dream is Gary Lindorff's first print collection since 1982.

More personal than Lindorff's previous book, The Blue Man (reissued by Two Plum Press, 013), the dreamscape of this text is expansive and immediate– a compelling and beguiling read. When Lindorff read these new works to a packed house, all unfamiliar with his work, at the September 2015 book release party, one could hear a pin drop– the work had found its audience.

The volume is illustrated by Lindorff's son, Evan Lindorff-Ellery, whose runs this fantastic tape label, Notice Recordings, run in much the same way as Two Plum Press.

We are thrilled to be presenting this book to the world!

excerpt:

Why doubt?

You find your purpose

Where it must have slipped behind the dresser

And now your whole philosophy needs revamping.

Relinquish your place in a chip of amber,

Sand-bagged against the next hurricane of conscience

Or remorse. . .

You help someone with cigarette burns all over their body

To see something.

You receive

A home-baked loaf of bread

Silver-wrapped against spoilage.

How can one ever complain?

Dream or no dream,

Small encounters coalesce

On the eve of dawn’s dusk. . .again.

And again. Courage, truth, even love

Along with homeless thoughts,

Wayward things,

Warmth continues.

Why doubt?
