In late March, after a dreamy week on Orcas Island with Sofie's aunt Jill and family (see photo) we attended a damn fine small press fair called APRIL in Seattle. We're just going to assume that in past years this thing actually happened in April.

Like Short Run before it, we were pleased to see that 'Off The Rez' Indian fry bread tacos were available in the parking lot outside, and to confirm that Seattle loves Two Plum Press. Thanks, Seattle!

We were gifted the little driftwood figure with the porcelain birds perched on it by a very sweet fanboy. Thanks, amazing Seattle fanboy!

In the early new year, we caught up on some much-needed reprinting of dust jackets for two early Two Plum titles, 'Flavor' by Sofie Sherman-Burton and 'The First Order Of Business' by Elizabeth Ferguson.

To celebrate getting these titles back in print, and to showcase the fall's new titles ('I Stayed Up Listening' by Michelle Overby, 'Moonstone' by Emily Tariela, and 'T h i s' by Rebekah Green), we held another large reading at the Independent Publishing Resource Center.

The lineup was as follows:

Andrew Barton (reading from 'T h i s'), Sofie Sherman-Burton (reading from 'Flavor'), Delphine Bedient (reading from 'Down and Out On a Yacht,' sharing a new story), Elizabeth Ferguson (reading a few pieces from 'The First Order Of Business' and several new pieces), an Michelle Overby (reading from 'I Stayed Up Listening,' then sharing several new pieces).

We drank donated Ninkasi beer, and ate savory cheddar/caramelized onion scones Andrew had made, and listened to a mix of the danciest Belle & Sebastian songs. It was a fine, fine evening.

Thanks to Holly Meyers for the Instagram-style documentation.

This Holiday Season, we tabled at the Publication Fair curated and organized by Publication Studio. We were honored to be asked and so happy to come! This was where I STAYED UP LISTENING (010) got its second run, and where      T H I S (009) and MOONSTONE (011) had their debuts. I was particularly pleased that the latter two titles did very well at this fair, as they are our first books by living authors who don't live in Portland.

My best friend from college, Asher Woodworth, familiar to readers of AUTUMN WANDERERS (005) and VISITING THE GOOD LIFE (008), was visiting. He tabled with me, as you can see. We enjoyed hearing from friends the speculation across the table of "do you think the Two Plum Press guys are dating?" I love that "Two Plum Press guys" is a thing. Also, Sofie reported that a teenager stormed over and said "Finally, I asked at the front, but nobody told me where Two Plum Press was," read every book extensively, didn't buy anything, and left.

This fall we made an appearance at Short Run in Seattle, WA. Thank you, Seattle, for being so supportive of Two Plum Press! This is where we "soft release"d our newest title, I STAYED UP LISTENING (010) by Michelle Overby. Catch a sneak-peak of the cover on the far right:

This book, as well as T H I S by Rebekah Green (009) and MOONSTONE by Emily Tareila (011) will be at available when we table at the Publication Studio-hosted book fair at The Cleaners in downtown Portland on December 14th. Come on down for your classy holiday shopping needs!
